The Netherlands 2010
Event where I prepared a fruit drink letting the
strength of my actions be led by the rhythm of the tropical music that was
being played (music from youtube after searching the term ‘tropical’). Images
of the immigrant street where the fruits were bought were projected over the
setting. Salpicon is the French word for a mixture of finely chopped ingredients
bound in a thick sauce, and in Colombia is a popular natural fruit drink.
The salpicon was offered to the audience, a multicultural audience constituted by people of all around the world. I intended to rise this question: In a world that is in a continuous flow and going through accelerated processes of hybridity and mixture, is it possible to experience something completely genuine and faithful to its origins? And furthermore is it important?
